**What:** [Paris-based Paladin](http://paladin.vote/?ref=frenchtechjournal.com) has developed a decentralized protocol for blockchain governance.

**Why:** In theory, blockchain systems are governed by the users. But those with few shares or votes are unlikely to participate due to their perceived lack of influence. Paladin's first tool is [a vote-lending protocol](https://medium.com/paladin-protocol/paladin-summons-its-pals-aa5e0e910218?ref=frenchtechjournal.com) that allows members to "loan" or pool their votes to have greater power in decision-making.

**Who:** Co-founders are CEO [Romain Figuereo](https://www.linkedin.com/in/romain-figuereo-126a3392?originalSubdomain=fr&ref=frenchtechjournal.com) and CTO [Valentin Viger](https://twitter.com/ValentinViger?ref=frenchtechjournal.com)

**Seed round:** [$2.55 million](https://www.finsmes.com/2021/10/paladin-raises-2-55m-in-seed-funding.html?ref=frenchtechjournal.com)

**Investors:** NFX, Galaxy Investment Partners (Galaxy Digital), Semantic Ventures, Greenfield Online

**Next**: Paladin will use this money to continue developing its protocol. In addition, it has begun distributing the initial batch of tokens that power its vote-lending system.
