French Tech Funding Wire December 15: France's €8.1B Creator Economy; Mistral AI Squeezed; 7 Companies Raised €27.53M

Between Dec 8 and Dec 12, French Tech startups raising money included Evertrust, Slash Intérim, GetMint, Corma, Monomeris Chemicals, Hocoia, Keria, and Onsen.

🧮 Data Point: Creator Economy Flex

📺🎤 The creator economy is no longer a niche sideshow in France.

According to a report unveiled at Paris Creator Week by Coherent Market Insights, the European creator economy is now worth $32.8 billion and is on track to explode to $157 billion by 2032, growing at roughly 25% a year. France ranks third behind the UK and Germany with a market valued at $8.1 billion in 2025.

The engine of this growth is not celebrity megastars alone, but millions of micro- and nano-creators, who now generate the bulk of revenues and are reshaping the sector’s economics. Europe already counts 8.6 million monetized creators. That figure is expected to triple by 2032, reflecting how content creation has become a genuine socio-economic category.

In France, the number of monetized creators could approach 1.5 million by the end of the decade, fueled by creator-led brands, studio-style structures, and a supportive regulatory framework.

From YouTube blockbusters like Inoxtag’s Kaizen to creators entering institutions like the Musée Grévin, the cultural impact is now unmistakable. The report also highlights a maturing industry, where AI tools, diversified revenue streams, and professionalization are helping creators compete head-on with traditional media, including television.

🧮 Data Point: Mistral AI Squeezed

Menlo Ventures released the latest edition of its closely-watched "2025: The State of Generative AI in the Enterprise," and the latest stats are not particularly heartening for French LLM hopeful Mistral AI.

At the high end, Anthropic is crushing it with business customers thanks to its coding model, outpacing OpenAI, with Google also making big gains. Those three grabbed 88% of all enterprise spending, with the other 12% scattered among Meta’s Llama, Cohere, Mistral, and some other smaller providers.

The share of enterprise deals going to open-source LLMs has fallen from 19% last year to 11%. Within that shrinking band, Mistral is holding its own.

So far, enterprises have not embraced Chinese open-source models, despite their technical gains. But it's a different story when it comes to developers whose support for Chinese models is surging. This is another area where Mistral's share is taking a hit, according to Menlo.
